Technical Documentation

Technical Documentation Services for SaaS and Product Teams

If your documentation isn’t keeping up, there’s a specific reason and a specific fix. These three services address it in the right order: first understanding what’s broken, then defining the structure, then rewriting the content.

I offer three services, designed to work as a complete engagement or as standalone phases depending on where you are in the process.

The 3-phase process

Most teams work through all three phases in order. Some start at phase two or three depending on their situation. The diagnostic call helps define the right starting point.

Documentation Audit

Before fixing anything, you need a clear picture of what you actually have. The audit reviews your existing documentation systematically, identifying structural gaps, overlapping content, high-risk areas, and priorities for what to fix first.

You receive a written report and a walkthrough call. The findings are yours to act on however you choose — with me, with another consultant, or with your own team.

Price: €2,900 — early access rate
I’m currently offering a limited number of audits at this rate as I open up availability for new clients.

Timeline: 2–3 weeks

    Documentation Architecture

Architecture is the foundation everything else is built on. Before any content is written or rewritten, the structure needs to be defined: article types, naming standards, placement rules, and a modular framework that supports reuse, findability, and AI implementation.

This is the phase that prevents the same cleanup project from appearing on the roadmap every year.

    Timeline: typically 4–6 weeks

    Pricing: scoped per project

      Documentation Rewriting

With the structure in place, existing content is rewritten, restructured, and migrated into the new architecture. Gaps are filled, duplication is removed, and every article is validated against real product workflows.

The result is a knowledge base that is clear, consistent, complete, and ready for both human readers and AI tools.

Timeline: depends on content volume, typically within 6 months

      Pricing: by the hour

        Not sure where to start?

If your documentation exists but isn’t keeping up, start with the audit. It gives you the full picture before any decisions are made. If you’re starting from scratch or have already completed an audit, start with architecture. If your structure is already defined and you need the content written, start with rewriting.

Still not sure? The diagnostic call will tell you.

        Documentation types and deliverables

Every engagement is different, but the deliverables typically fall into these categories:

        User-facing documentation

Product guides, quick start guides, installation guides, step-by-step instructions, feature overviews, release notes, fix lists, troubleshooting guides

        Support documentation

FAQs, error message explanations, known issues and workarounds

        Internal documentation

Process guides, team onboarding materials, internal knowledge bases, company wikis, SOPs, franchise documentation

        Developer documentation

API documentation, integration guides, SDK references

What stays the same across all 3 phases

One consultant handles the work from start to finish. No handovers, no loss of context, no gap between strategy and execution. The same person who defines the structure applies it.

Work is delivered in clear phases. You make decisions step by step without committing to everything at once.
